The Domaine Berger-Rive is based within the family property of Manoir de Mercey, located at the southern end of the Côte de Beaune in the village of Cheilly-lès-Maranges, and more precisely in the heart of the Mercey hamlet. Paul BERGER, fourth generation of winegrowers within the Berger-Rive family, took over the estate in 2020, after 5 years of collaboration as a father-son duo. With his team, he cultivates 26 hectares (64 acres) divided between the Rully, Mercurey and Hautes Cotes de Beaune appellations. The estate has been certified High Environmental Value by the French government since the 2017 vintage.

Vinification: 10 days’ maceration at a temperature of 28-30°C (82 - 86°F) with a peak before de-vatting. Slow end to fermentation to favour the red fruit aromas of the Pinot Noir.
Ageing: After around 20 days’ fermentation, the wine is all run off into casks (25% of them new). It will be aged for between 12 and 14 months, then lightly filtered and bottled.
Tasting notes: aromas of ripe fruit combined with a hint of woodiness. Very generous on the palate. You’ll be seduced by its voluptuousness.
Serving: 15-16°C (59 - 61°F)
Keeping: between 6 and 12 years depending on the vintage
