The Domaine Berger-Rive is based within the family property of Manoir de Mercey, located at the southern end of the Côte de Beaune in the village of Cheilly-lès-Maranges, and more precisely in the heart of the Mercey hamlet. Paul BERGER, fourth generation of winegrowers within the Berger-Rive family, took over the estate in 2020, after 5 years of collaboration as a father-son duo. With his team, he cultivates 26 hectares (64 acres) divided between the Rully, Mercurey and Hautes Cotes de Beaune appellations. The estate has been certified High Environmental Value by the French government since the 2017 vintage.

Vinification: 8 days’ maceration at 28-30°C (82 - 86°F) with a peak of 34°C (93°F). Slow end to fermentation to favour the red fruit aromas of the Pinot Noir.
Ageing: After around 3 weeks’ fermentation, the wine is stored for 12 months in oak casks to begin its second fermentation.
Tasting notes : Aromas of fresh red fruits and firm tannins when young. More mature, it develops aromas of candied fruit.
Serving: 15-16°C (59 - 61°F)
Keeping: between 4 and 8 years, depending on the cellar and the vintage
